SetCoat / AquaBond Quarts
SetCoat / AquaBond™ is designed to be used as a durable wall, trim and cabinet finish. It also performs extremely well as a superior basecoat under all of your decorative finishing projects. Because it allows AquaCreme™ and AquaGlaze™ more open time for manipulation, AquaBond™ is the recommended substrate for creating classic decorative finishes. This material has superb bonding and sealing qualities. It is appropriate for both interior and exterior applications. Unlike common latex paints, the high grade proprietary resins and manufacturing process of SetCoat / AquaBond™ allows the material to be hand rubbed to a satin patina or wet sanded to a feathered edge.
Basic Application:
- Thoroughly clean the surface before applying SetCoat / AquaBond™. For cabinets, furniture and Formica finishes, sand the surface with 220-grit sandpaper. Apply SetCoat / AquaBond™ using a brush, roller of spray equipment. In most applications 2 thin to medium coats is recommended. Allow SetCoat / AquaBond™ to dry a minimum of 2 hours between coats and at least 8 hours before applying any glaze.
- SetCoat / AquaBond™ may be thinned with up to 20% water for spray applications (unnecessary with some spray equipment). For roll-on applications, use a good quality sponge roller with a fine grain. When applying metallic colors, finish roll in one direction. Brush applications require a good quality brush designed for water based material. Finish brush in one direction using light pressure to achieve a smoother surface.
Tips:
