AquaGlaze
AquaGlaze™ is a superior water based glazing medium containing high quality resins and proprietary materials. This complex, slow drying material is generally used in combination with a good quality, latex acrylic paint or AquaBond™. AquaGlaze™ eliminates the struggle of custom mixing colors, simply use the color charts at the paint store to tint the chosen acrylic latex paint, and then combine with the glaze. The unique viscosity of AquaGlaze™ permits effortless manipulation of the material across the work surface enabling the artisan to use a wide variety of techniques such as, sponging, bagging, pouncing, stria and marbling.
Basic Application:
- Using a brush, roller or spray method, apply 2 coats of AquaSeal™ or AquaBond™ to seal the work surface. Let dry.
- Create your glazing mixture by combining AquaGlaze™ with 5 - 25% good quality, acrylic latex paint. Mix thoroughly. Product may be thinned up to 30% with water.
- Apply the colored glaze mixture by brush, roller or spray equipment. Choose one of several methods to manipulate the glaze, using items such as plastic bags, terry cloth, cheesecloth or paper towels. When pressed, rolled or pushed into the wet glaze, each tool will leave a distinct impression.
- Allow each layer of glaze to dry for approximately 24 hours before applying a new layer.
- Once the finish is complete, permit the entire work surface to dry for approximately 24 hours before applying a topcoat of ColorSeal™ or AquaGard™.
