FauxMetal 8 OZ.

FauxMetal™ is a modern, metal coating containing real metals. This material provides excellent coverage and may be applied directly to metal without discoloration or the subsequent rusting of the original metal surface. It performs exceptionally well as a non-tarnishing basecoat. It may be used on decorative trim work, for stenciling, gilding and even as fabric paint.

Basic Application:

• Make sure the metal surface is clean and grease free. Lightly sand to remove any loose paint or debris.
• Using a brush, roller or spray unit, apply thin, even coats of FauxMetal™ to the work surface.
• Allow to dry 8 - 24 hours (depending on the drying conditions)
• Repeat the application of thin, even coats until the desired metallic effect has been achieved.
• For added protection, topcoat with VarnishPlus™, AquaGard™ or AquaThane™.
• Apply over any Venetian Gem™ product with the exception of any wax coating.
• Always create a sample to ensure the desired result.
• Topcoat with C-500 Urethane™ for a more durable finish especially in an exterior application. This procedure will not affect the look of the finish.

Tips:

• FauxMetal™ can be distressed or tarnished with the use of water and vinegar. Apply this solution while the FauxMetal™ is still wet or at least half dry.
• Do not thin FauxMetal™ with water or with other water based materials.
• FauxMetal™ will resist tarnishing if clear coated with a water based topcoat.
• VarnishPlus™ is recommended.
