Master Dutch Metal Gallons
Master Dutch Metal™ is a high hide product that produces a jeweler’s quality finish similar to actual metallic leaf. A beautiful liquid metal product, it can be used for artistic painting, stenciling, highlight tipping, dry brushing or anywhere a luminous metallic finish is desired.
Basic Application:
- Prepare the work surface by applying 2 coats of SetCoat®/AquaBond™ or SetCoat® Clear/AquaSeal™.
- Apply 1 coat of Master Dutch Metal™ using a brush or spray unit.
- Allow the product to dry a minimum of 1 hour before applying additional coats.
- Wait a minimum of 2 hours after applying the final coat before polishing or sanding.
- If desired, dry sand the work surface with fine sandpaper, such as 600 – 1200 grit.
- Polish with cheesecloth or a burnishing tool.
- Since Master Dutch Metal™ will tarnish over time like real metal, a coat of solvent-based clear coat, wax or varnish should be applied for a lasting shine. This information is especially important for exterior applications.
Tips:
- To achieve a corrosive or greening effect, thin Master Dutch Metal™ with up to 20% water and apply.
- Master Dutch Metal™ may also be distressed using Activator II™ in a spatter or blotting application.
