Olde World Veneziano™ is an authentic, ultra smooth, Venetian Plaster designed for interior use. Able to attain a high polish, Olde World Veneziano™ can create a variety of remarkable finishes when used in conjunction with Olde World Venetian Wax™ and MicaGlow Powder™.

Basic Application:

  • Ensure that the work surface is properly prepared. Olde World Veneziano™ will work over most basecoats; however, for best results apply a full coat of PlasterTex™ which has the appropriate grit and absorption for this application. PlasterTex™ will also make the following layers of Olde World Veneziano™ much easier to apply.
  • Mix a small amount of AquaColor™ or Faux Creme Color™ into Olde World Veneziano™. Do not use more than 8 oz. of color per gallon.
  • With a good quality, stainless steel trowel that is free of marks and scratches, apply a thin even first coat. Make sure that it is as smooth as possible.
  • Allow the first layer to dry approximately 3 - 4 hours. Once the first layer is dry, continue to apply 2 more thin coats, waiting 3 - 4 hours between coats. The final 3rd coat should be the thinnest.
  • Once the 3rd coat is 80 - 90% dry begin to burnish the material. Always hold the trowel at a slight angle for this operation.
  • For waterproofing and extra stain resistance, seal Olde World Veneziano™ with Olde World Venetian Sealer™ only.
  • To enhance the shine, apply Olde World Venetian Wax'. Wait for 30 minutes and then buff by hand or electric buffer. For added decorative effects, mix MicaGlow Powder into the wax prior to its application.

Tips:

  • Olde World Veneziano™ can be diluted up to 20% with water for very thin coats and more translucency.
  • It is important to note that tinted Olde World Veneziano™ will dry 10 - 20% lighter once it is fully dry.
  • If a darker color is required, add additional amounts of color prior to the application of the product. A color test is recommended before beginning the entire project.
  • Always make a sample to ensure the desired result.
  • Keep the container wet and clean. Do not allow side-loaded product to dry in the container. Never return used product back into the original container.
